A 35-foot-diameter dome of white laminated safety glass which crowns a 70-foot-tall cylinder of clear and bronze plate glass. From SOS: "A weathervane set on top of a glassed domed building. The weathervane is a simple arrow and a curved shape on top of a narrow cone-shaped pole."

Oakland Gems  
Nova acrylics on plywood construction panels, eight feet high by five hundred feet wide. Twenty-five of Oakland's architectural historic treasures were painted in a stained glass window motif on the temporary construction fencing around what is now the Elihu Harris State Building at 14th and Clay Streets in downtown Oakland. Commissioned by Oakland Department of Public Works. Special thanks to Dwight Legaspi, Chris Page and Kayra McConnell.

Oakland's Portrait  
Giant portraits of Oakland citizens in photorealist detail. Painted with artists Keith Sklar and Juan Carlos. Although it only lasted 2 years, the mural became an instant sensation. When new owners purchased the former Rotunda building (Liberty House) the mural was sandblasted away.

Optimus  
An angel-like steel figure is represented by circular crescent shapes mounted above a triangular base with a brushes steel surface. Kinetic sculpture for those tall enough to push the circular shapes around. They also move on windy days.

From SOS: "Abstract sculpture with four orbs which intersect each other as the wind blows, set on a square base. Nearby plaque reads: In recognition of generous gifts from Mr and Mrs William S. Towne this plaza and its sculpture optimus by Jerome Kirk, were dedicated in January 1987."
