KNOWLAND ON MAY 1,1951/IN HONOR OF THOSE CITIZENS WHO IN/1925 INAUGURATED THE MOVEMENT FOR/CREATION OF THE PORT OF OAKLAND/AND WHO HAVE SINCE COOPERATED/IN ITS CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT unsigned. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Charleton, Trafford.
"Original cast found in Blair Estate, Piedmont (California). It was given to Trafford Charleton, who later gave it to the Port of Oakland. It was repaired and cast into bronze by Lee McCarty." |

| Jesus and the Apostles | |
| Sited at the First Congregational Church. From SOS: "The church, inspired by Italian Romanesque cathedrals, was built by John Galen Howard and was dedicated Nov. 2, 1925. A bas-relief of Jesus and the twelve disciples. The figure of Jesus is centered and stands on a raised step. His proper left hand rests on the head of the disciple next to him, and his proper right hand is at his side. Eleven of the disciples have their hands clasped in an attitude of prayer, while the twelfth, who is at the immediate proper right of Jesus, has his arms folded. All figures wear robes and have halos. The bas-relief is above the central entrance to the church, and supports a colonnade in the pediment." |

| From SOS: "A statue of Joaquin Miller as a bearded man astride a standing horse. The equestrian statue sits atop a rectangular base. The statue is after a miniature by the sitter's daughter, Juanita Miller. Restoration work was performed in 1968, including coating the statue with pigment and iron filings to produce a patina on its surface. In Merville A. Reed's Book titled "Historical Statues and Monuments in California", Miller wears a hat which is now missing." |
